We have years of experience of fitting high end bespoke blinds, what is essential is that you get blind measuring process right. We have put together some clear instructions about how to measure up for your new blinds.

What do I need to measure for blinds?

You will need the necessary equipment to measure in cm and mm for the job, please give us the measurement to the nearest 0.1cm. You will need 3 essential tools:

  • A steel tape measure or rule (cloth ones can stretch with time)
  • A working pen
  • A pad or piece of paper.

Recess or Exact fit?

Decide if you want your blind to fit inside the "recess" of your window or if you want it to fit over your window completely, an "exact" blind.

Top tips for measuring up:

  • Measure both diagonals of your recess and make sure the difference is less than 12mm
  • Check the recess depth, make sure that you have 7 cm of depth to fit comfortably.
  • Drop - Vertical measurement (top to bottom); take 3 measurements inside the recess, one on the left, one on the right and one centre.
  • Width - Horizontal measurement (across) ; take 3 measurements inside the recess, one on the left, one on the right and one centre.
  • Use the smallest measurements for both Drop and Width. These are the measurements to use for ordering your new blind.

Top tips for measuring up:

  • IMPORTANT - add on 7.5 cm all the way around from the edge of the recess for exact fit blind.
  • Drop - Vertical measurement (top to bottom); take 3 measurements from edge to edge of the recess, one on the left, one on the right and one centre.
  • Width - Horizontal measurement (across) ; take 3 measurements from edge to edge of the recess, one on the left, one on the right and one centre.
  • Don't forget to add 15 cm total to your smallest width and drop measurements. These are the measurements to use for ordering your new blind.
